Day 1: Nairobi / Tsavo West
On arrival pick up from J.K.I.A and drive towards Nairobi/Mombasa highway to Tsavo West National Park. At 20, 807 sq. Kms, Tsavo is the largest park in the country. Tsavo West is famed for the notorious “Man Eaters of Tsavo”. The man-eating lions preyed on the railway linesmen building the great Uganda Railway. Day 2: Tsavo West/ Amboseli
After breakfast morning drive via Chyulu Hills to Amboseli National Park, one of the most popular parks on the Tanzania border offering unique spectacle; the backdrop is the snow-capped Mt. Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain proudly standing at 19,344ft, sometimes known as the “ROOF OF AFRICA”. Lunch will be served at Kibo Safari Camp. Afternoon game drive until sunset. Day 3: Amboseli
Spend a further day in the park on morning and afternoon game-viewing drives. Wildlife here includes the zebra, wildebeest, giraffe, impala, caracal and serval cat, lion, leopard, cheetah, buffalo, and wild dog among others. There are also over 400 species of birds, including the bee-eater, kingfisher, African fish eagle, martial eagle, and pygmy falcon. Visitors mainly come to watch the huge herds of elephants. Day 4: Amboseli/ Lake Naivasha
After breakfast check out and drive to Naivasha. Arrive in the afternoon and enjoy a boat ride and nature walk on Crescent Island, a crescent-shaped peninsula where part of the shooting of the movie “Out of Africa” was shot. On the island, you will enjoy an unforgettable safari in the heart of this enchanting landscape. The island is a sanctuary for many species of birds, including herons, ibis, and weavers. Day 5: Lake Naivasha/ Masai Mara
After early breakfast, morning drive across the Rift Valley escarpment to Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch at Mara Leisure Camp. During your two days, you have the opportunity to explore this great reserve in depth. You will have the chance to see the elephant, giraffe, prides of lion, and thousands of impalas, topi, grants, and Thomson’s gazelle. The Mara is the scene of the annual migration of millions of wildebeest up from the Serengeti plains in search of water and grasses. While in Mara, you will have the option to float above the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem on board a hot air balloon followed by a gourmet champagne breakfast (at an extra cost). Day 6: Maasai Mara
Spend a further day of game-watching with morning and afternoon game drives. Wildlife is abundant in the Reserve with the gentle grasslands ensuring that animals are never out of sight. Birds are prolific including immigrants, 450 bird species have been recorded among them 57 birds of prey. Every year the Mara plays host to the world’s greatest natural spectacle; The Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti. The big cats – lion, leopard, and cheetah – follow the wildebeest, essentially their main source of food, into the Mara. The Mara at this time is packed with wildlife, providing lucky visitors on safari with superb sightings of the game.
