  • Arrival: Upon arrival at JKIA, our team will meet you and transfer you north to the Aberdare region.
  • Lunch: Arrive at your lodge in time for a delicious lunch.
  • Rhino Sanctuary: Spend the afternoon on a game drive at Solio Ranch. This private sanctuary is a global success story for rhino conservation. You can expect to see dozens of black and white rhinos grazing on the open plains, along with lions, leopards, and buffaloes.
  • Evening: Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 02: Journey to Samburu National Reserve

Travel north across the equator to the rugged, semi-arid landscapes of Samburu, a land of unique beauty and rare species.

  • Morning: After breakfast, drive north, watching the landscape transform into dry, acacia-dotted plains.
  • The Special Five: Keep your eyes peeled for the “Samburu Special Five”: the Reticulated Giraffe, Grevy’s Zebra, Beisa Oryx, Somali Ostrich, and the Gerenuk (a long-necked antelope).
  • Afternoon: Enjoy a scenic afternoon game drive along the Ewaso Ng’iro River, the lifeline of the park that attracts elephants and predators alike.
  • Evening: Dinner and overnight at your lodge/camp.

Day 03: Full-Day Safari in Samburu

Spend a full day exploring this photogenic reserve, where the light is golden and the wildlife is distinct.

  • Morning: An early morning game drive offers the best chance to see big cats like lions, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which are often found resting in trees along the riverbanks.
  • Birdwatching: With over 380 bird species recorded, Samburu is a paradise for birders.
  • Exploration: Spend the rest of the day exploring the diverse habitats, from riverine forests to scrubland.
  • Evening: Return to your lodge for dinner under the stars.

Day 04: Lake Nakuru National Park

Depart the arid north for the Great Rift Valley and the famous birdwatcher’s paradise of Lake Nakuru.

  • Morning: Drive south with a picnic lunch, descending into the Rift Valley.
  • Game Drive: Enter Lake Nakuru National Park. Famous for its pink flamingos (season dependent), the park is also a sanctuary for both black and white rhinos and the endangered Rothschild’s giraffe.
